Perched on the cliffs above beautiful Bovisand Beach, The Cliff Edge Café is a family-run gem with some of the best views in Devon.

The Cliff Edge Café is a family-run haven overlooking the beautiful sweep of Plymouth Sound.
Run by Livvy Cowan, her family, and a small, carefully hand-picked team, it’s a place where friendly faces, homemade food and breathtaking sea views come together in the most welcoming of settings.
Whether you’re strolling the South West Coast Path, exploring Bovisand Beach below, or simply in search of a relaxed spot for lunch with a view, you’ll find a warm greeting and something delicious waiting for you.
From full English breakfasts to freshly filled jacket potatoes, Devonshire cream teas, toasted sandwiches, homemade cakes and more - everything is prepared with care and, where possible, sourced from local suppliers.
We've vegan, gluten-free, and vegetarian options, a large selection of hot and cold drinks, and of course a freezer full of ice-lollies for those hot summer days.
Nothing is ever too much trouble - if you'd like to make alterations to dishes on the menu, just ask - and if we can provide it, we will.
At one with nature
Take a seat in the cosy cabin, unwind on the sun-deck, or grab a takeaway to enjoy as you wander the cliffs.
The café is surrounded by natural coastal flora and fauna, and it’s not unusual to share your table with a friendly robin or see butterflies drift past as you gaze out to sea.
On a clear day, you can even spot the Eddystone Lighthouse glinting on the horizon, around 13 miles offshore.
Alongside great food and great views, the café loves to support local craftspeople, offering a small showcase of handmade gifts and products created right here in Devon.

We want to make your visit as enjoyable as possible. We're a small local business in a fantastic location, where the view is ever-changing, but always captivating.
On sunny days relax on the sun-deck, when the weather is more inclement, come inside and make yourself comfortable in our small but cosy cabin.
We love to meet your four-legged companions, too - there are water bowls for them to slurp from after a run on the beach and doggy snacks so they don't feel left out.
The Cliff Edge Café proudly holds a five-star food rating and is open seven days a week from 9 am – 3 pm.
There’s paid parking, and during the summer months a bus service also stops just outside.
